Secretly wed Meghan Markle

Although they were married officially in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, were actually married before this in a more intimate backyard ceremony. The official event was somewhat less intimate, with 2200 members of the public, and the royal family all in attendance.

Harry has always had an adventurous side, and in 2013 he took part in a 200-mile trekking expedition to the South Pole. Alongside the Prince, wounded servicemen and women from across the British Commonwealth took part.

Created the Invictus Games

Created the Invictus Games

Now an established and well-known sporting event, the Invictus Games were launched by Prince Harry in 2014 at the Copper Box Arena in London. Funding for the project came from The Royal Foundation, a charity founded by Prince Harry and his brother William. As a veteran himself, the Games remain very close to Harry's heart.

Prince Harry served in the British military for ten years and was surprisingly in combat on the front lines in Afghanistan. During his service, Harry proudly flew Apache helicopters. Prince Harry is pictured here returning from the base after spending ten weeks on active duty in Afghanistan in 2008. Harry held the rank of Second Lieutenant and was deployed to Afghanistan with his Blues and Royals Household Cavalry Regiment.

Prince Harry has been making regular visits to the African Continent since his youth, which he affectionately calls his second home, even proposing to Meghan on a camping trip to Botswana. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a royal tour to South Africa in 2019.

Follows in Diana's Footsteps

Prince Harry has been involved in a variety of charity projects and is proud to follow in his mother's footsteps. He has set up a charity, Sentebale (which means "forget me not"), that helps children impacted by HIV and poverty. During the five-day tour of Africa in 2019, Prince Harry walked through a minefield to see the work of landmine clearance charity the Halo Trust.

Prince Harry's wild-child ways made him a hot topic in the media. Despite a temporary calm, his name frequently resurfaced in tabloids for all the wrong reasons. Notably, he posed in a Nazi uniform in 2005 and was photographed naked in Las Vegas in 2012. His rebellious behavior started early, with drinking at 12 and smoking at eight. At Eton, he hosted wild parties in King Charles' country house, dubbed "Club H."
