David and Victoria Beckham are undoubtedly one of the most respectable couples in Hollywood. Rising from stars in the football world and the entertainment industry, they have been together through all thick and thin and built a multi-million business empire. Wealth aside, the Beckhams are also an admirable family with four adorable and (not so) baby children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. As 2022 marks the couple's 23rd wedding anniversary, let's take a look at their beautiful romance over the years.

In 1996, David shot to superstardom as a Manchester United winger, making headlines with his incredible, iconic goal from the halfway line. Meanwhile, his future wife, Victoria Beckham, was taking the world by storm with her debut album Spice with other Spice Girls. Both of them were rising stars of Hollywood at the time.

The couple first came across each other in a charity football match in early 1997 when they were at the restroom for the Manchester United players. At that time, David was not the famous one but it was Victoria. According to British Vogue 2016, she wrote about this day as an occasion when ‘Love at first sight does exist’.

In 1998, the lovebirds decided to publicly share that they were engaged at a press meeting. The former Spice Girls member admitted when talking about her ring: ‘It’s lovely, it’s a surprise, as well’. In addition, people were also shockingly informed that the couple was planning to have their first baby, despite many difficulties that Victoria had to bear when she was on tour.

The great news was announced on March 4, 1999 when the couple’s first child was born, a boy named Brooklyn (who just married in April to American billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz). In 2003, David Beckham moved from Man United to Spain giant Real Madrid. It was in the same year that the couple had to deal with infidelity rumors from David. The footballer was working in Spain when he and his assistant were caught leaving a nightclub together. While that woman revealed that she had something with David, the husband insisted that: ‘The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.’

After the cheating allegations, Posh and Beck focused on taking care of and growing their family. They did not let anything affect their family and announced that a third baby was coming in late August. The couple still attended several red carpets, looking loved-up as usual.
