Timothy Simon Roth was born on 14 May 1961 in Dulwich, London. His mother Ann was a teacher and painter, and his father, Ernie was a Fleet Street journalist and a painter.
Attended school in Lambeth
Roth studied at Lambeth school but due to bullying he moved to Croydon Technical School. He wanted to be a sculptor and attended the Camberwell College of Arts in London.
